Our little motto for TAKS this year is Just Do It, with a symbol that looks a lot like Nike's swoosh...but it TOTALLY isn't...riiiiiight. LOL. Yep, it's that time of year...The good news is it's the last year for TAKS. Bad news...the test STARR will be more "rigorous" next year. {Womp, Womp} We're facing the biggest budget cuts in state history, but don't worry...we can afford a multi-million dollar brand new test. Does something seem wrong here?!?
Cute idea! I seriously loathe this time of year, but when it comes down to it, we have to make the best of it! Standardized tests are not going away any time soon.
ReplyDeleteStandardized test no...but Texas insists on having their own state test and it must be the best of the best. They have a test now, but think we need another one. At the same time they are willing to spend millions for a new test they are cutting 27 BILLION from our test...which mean TONS of teachers are losing their jobs. Sad:(
