A lot of people doubted us and said there was no way it could be done...but I knew it could. :) The trip cost $86 a kid plus $5 if we wanted to include a dinner {and of course, we did} so $91 a kid. We did fundraisers back in September and October and wa-la, 2 months later we had already reach our goal of over $9,000!
Friday was the big day. We took 115 people down to Waco, Texas to the Cameron Park Zoo and then down to Georgetown to the Inner Space Caverns. Let me tell you people, it was SO worth every penny! We got to school at 6:00am and returned at 8:30pm. {Yes, you read that right...14 1/2 hours} The staff at EIA planned every detail from transportation, to food and activities....and led everything. It was SO AMAZING!
From the time we got on the bus, the learning began. They did activities during the whole bus ride, which thankfully made for a quick trip! They had journals they carried around and used throughout the zoo and the caves. Ahh, it was so great! I would encourage anyone living in the North Texas area to really consider this...the learning that went on and the experiences that were made were once in a lifetime!
Here are a few pictures from my phone {sorry in advance for the quality}
Leaving early Friday morning
VERY nice Coach buses...made the ride enjoyable
Learning about the Black Bears habitat
We did the Brazos river exhibit...so neat!
For the record, this is NOT with any type of zoom.
I obviously was on the other side of the glass, but oh my word, how cool is this?!?
This was our train ride down into the cave
Just a glimpse of the awesomeness I got to see
What a FUN day!

Fun field trip! I bet you were exhausted after that long day. I'm always WORN OUT on field trip days. You were really up close and personal with that lion. Very cool. I love animals. Zoos are the best. Caves are fun too. Are 5th graders scary? I'm just used to my little ones. I think I'd be scared of 5th grade.
