Seriously...there is still 5 more days of school????

Seriously...I feel like I might just scream...why do these 11 years old feel like they can do anything they want. Like it's their world and we're just living in it? Were you not in school for the last 172 days and abiding by my rules? My names on the door not yours. Get it together...5. more. days!

Seriously...Do I really have to sit outside all day tomorrow for our End of the Year party in the 95 degree Texas heat and then jump on the highway for 4.5 hours?!

Seriously...Did I really just make 3 consecutive posts about school? Summer Vacation, where are you??!!?

Seriously...Scotty won American Idol last night?!? I thought Lauren Alaina was a shoe in.

Seriously...It's 8:30 and I still have to do laundry, dishes, clean the house AND pack before I can go to sleep??

Seriously...I am so sick of basketball. Now that the Mavs stole my Thunder, I'm soooo over it. I hate 40 days and 40 nights of basketball...and yes, it's been on {every night} for that long.

Seriously...Insurance company? You're going to raise my insurance $100 a month and raise my copay??? LAME.

Seriously...I'm going to be 32 in 20 days. Shoot me now! :)

Tonight was another one of my couponing trips to Walgreen's. Here is everything I got...for $13.47!

Fusion Razor- $9.99  I had a $5 off coupon and then you get $5 Register Rewards

Making it $12.85 (Plus you get $8 in register rewards)

2 bottles of Purex Detergent- $5.99 Buy 1/ Get 1 Free.  I had a $3 off 2 coupon
3 boxes of Mac and Cheese- $0.69 each with Walgreen's coupon
1 L of Listerine (plus a free smaller bottle)- $4.49   I had a $1 off coupon and matched it with a $3 off Walgreen's coupon.
Klondike Bars- $2.99

Making it $8.62, then I applied my $8 Register Rewards...so Grand Total of Transaction #2... $0.62

GRAND TOTAL at Walgreen's- $13.47

These deals are good at Walgreen's until Saturday, May 28th. :)

Pray For Joplin

As we all know, the devastation in Joplin is just heart wrenching. I have been glued to the TV since yesterday...oh, and the Facebook pages (Joplin Tornado Citizen Check and Help Find Will Norton) will seriously have you in tears feeling so helpless. I thank God that the one family I know there was all safe and sound. PTL! 

I think it is just in my nature to want to drop everything and go there to do anything I can to help out. Like for real...it's tugging at my heart like crazy. If you read those FB pages, it just person after person looking for their loved ones. And since they're moving everyone to hospitals within a 100 mile radius in every direction, it's almost impossible to find anyone. :(

In case there is anyone like myself, wondering what in the world I can do to help from afar...I have a few ideas. First and foremost, The Red Cross. You can text 90999 to make a donation to the Red Cross. They will automatically add it to your phone bill. You can also donate $10 to the Joplin Relief Fund by texting "JOPLIN" to 864833. There is also some people in Joplin who have a t-shirt shop and are making these t-shirts (like the picture above) and donating 100% to the Red Cross.

Multicultural Day

In case you've been wondering where I've been...here you go. I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting ready for our 2nd Annual Multicultural Day at my school. I stole this idea from a friend at another school about a year and a half ago and have been busy ever since making into our own tradition.

This year's theme was Highlander Airlines. We made a stop on 6 different continents. We visited Australia, Brazil, Japan. Mexico, South Africa and Sweden. We start right at 8:30 and go until 3:05. Non-stop learning everything we can about the countries. There is music, food, crafts, learning about the culture and language...basically creating awareness and respect for new countries each year.

I have a few iPhone pictures to share. I'll apologize now for the quality of the pictures...hopefully you can get an idea of how our day was.

When I think an airplane birthday party, I'm immediately think "boy." But, what happens when a little 3 year old girl LOVES airplanes too? Recently, a friend of mine asked for ideas for her little girls birthday party this summer. She told me she loves airplanes so I searched. I've looked high and low and just about every birthday party idea is aimed for a boy. BUT...here are my ideas of what you could use for a little girls party. Instead of the basic blue and red, for a girl I would use baby blues and corals. 

I love the ideas here.

Whoo Hoo!

I woke up this morning, got ready for church, left the house and looked to the west and saw big, black, scary clouds. Hmm...quickly I clicked my radar app on my phone and saw a HUGE storm right over the area I was headed. Re-verse! I headed right back into the garage. No thank you...I can watch the live streaming on the internet. :)

So as I am waiting for church to start, I decided to check my blog to see if we hit our goal...guess what?!? WE DID IT!!! 101 followers! Wow...even I am impressed! I know I didn't say I was going to do this, but I am. I want to spotlight follower #100. Kelly from The Girl in the Blue Glasses was my 100th follower!

This morning I have been obsessed with her blog! She is SUCH a talented artist and SO creative! She has the cutest almost 8 month old little boy and is a Junior High Art teacher turned stay at home mom. Kelly makes the cutest things including aprons, burp clothes, and these cool sketchbook pages. <---See below

What a fun way to remember the milestones in life. 

She also does tons of giveaways and how-to projects. I loved this book shelf idea she shows step by step how to do.
