Me...Breathtaking?

STOP. THE. WORLD.
Katie Lately has received it's first award. Man, I feel like such an official blogger now...still shocked that anyone other than my family reads this. :) Thank you Sarah for giving me the Breathtaking Blog award...I'm glad you like my blog as much as I love yours!

Questions to answer:

1. Who/what inspires you?
My mom inspires me. She is the best, most creative teacher on the face of the planet. For real. She is, by definition, exactly what every teacher should be. I hope to be half the teacher she is one day. Love you Mama!

2. What is your favorite season and why?

This might be a tie. My whole life, I've always said Summer...for the obvious reasons {no school, pools, tans, dresses, etc} BUT, living in Texas kind of ruins that a bit. When its 110 with no wind, you really don't even want to go to the pool...so my most recent favorite is Fall. It's still pool weather until about the end of October, but more like 80's-90's with cool autumn nights dropping into the 60's. Yep, Fall I think wins this tie.

3. What are you most looking forward to this year?

I am putting this in quotes. This is actually what Sarah said in her answer. How crazy is it that this is my answer too!?!? It's quite possible that we could be the same person living in different states. Ha! But here is what I am most excited about at the moment..."Paying off my car. It should be paid off soon and I can't wait to get rid of that payment. It's been 5 long years."

4. If you could write a book about anything what would it be about?

When I was in college I actually had to make a children's book for a math lesson. I must admit, it's pretty cute. Believe it or not, I still read my book every year. It teaches Area through the eyes of Mya the Bee and Farmer Steve. Maybe one day I'll take pictures of it and post it. :)

5. What is your greatest passion?
Teaching! I have never felt so passionately about anything. I couldn't imagine doing anything else in life. Being a teacher is seriously the most rewarding job...these kids make it so worth it!

6. If you could change one thing about your life or yourself, what would it be?

I wish I could have better comebacks and words would just roll off my tongue right when I need them to. I am more of a "I need to take it in, give me a minute to think about what you just said" type of person. I can't tell you how many times I look back on situations and say "why didn't I think of that then" I have the greatest comebacks ever...they are just usually an hour or two later. Lol.

7. Lastly, what is your favorite novel?

Well this is embarrassing! Since this is my blog AND I am working at this "being transparent" thing, I will be honest with you. I don't really read. I love magazines and blogs...but that's about it. I just don't have the attention span for it. I am not one to sit in the same place for an extended period of time and I can't imagine sitting down and ONLY reading for an hour straight. Now with this being said {again, no judgements} I did read the entire trilogy of Lauren Conrad's books. Yes, I said it. I enjoyed them thoroughly and read all three books cover to cover!
Now I get to pass on this award! I'm passing it onto:

  2. I'm so touched by your comments about me ~ and here's a little secret of my own. When I grow up, I want to be just 1/2 as good of a teacher as you! You are creative, motivated, and quite the leader at your school. Not to mention that you are a fantastic teacher. I'm so proud of you!
