Teacher Week: Online Resources

The 4th day of Teacher Week is suppose to be the Classroom Tour. Sorry, I'm going to have to do that one tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that if I took pictures of my room today, you would've thought I was the messiest person ever! So I'm going to do tomorrow's post today and today's tomorrow.

I'm going to be posting some of my favorite sites that we love to use! I teach Math to all the 5th graders, but I am also a Technology Trainer so we get to do tons of fun projects too.

#1 Favorite Teacher Website is The Mailbox.  I just love all their activities and creative ideas. Another great plus is their teacher resources...I print out my calendars and class list using this still.

Number Cop is a really fun game that my kids enjoy. It is great review for facts and even prime and composite numbers.

Another good one we use a lot in class is the online Math Dictionary. I love how colorful and animated this site is. It's a good place to go to not only get a definition but examples. Here's an example of Factor Tree:

Math Hunt is a good site for my kids towards the end of the year...or my high kids. It's from Scholastic and is designed to test students’ math skills while teaching them how to research using the Internet. It focuses on a different social studies or science theme and covers math skills at the same time. Great for problem solving.

If you have any other good math websites, send them my way...I'm always looking!
