Lake Time

Last weekend we celebrated my besties 30th birthday up at Grand Lake. Oh, how lake weekends have changed over the years. lol. We packed up Friday afternoon and headed to Jayna's in laws beautiful, huge and UH-Mazing lake house. Like for real...one of us might need to get famous and put that house on Cribs.  We got there late that evening and pretty much just snacked and hung around catching up the whole night.
Saturday morning we are up at at 'em bright and early. There had been this blue-green algae scare the weekend before...but it was good to go by the time we got there. Personally, I could've cared less...I don't get in lake water. I know, I know...probably the only one in the whole wide world. Thanks to the Mayer's I will probably never enjoy anyone else's boat again. Our boat had a downstairs with A/C and a bathroom and refrigerator. Um, hello...this is genius! We stayed out on the water all day and it was fabulous. Saturday night we cooked the biggest t-bones I've ever seen and celebrated Betsy's 30th birthday!
{HALF of one of the t-bones...and my bomb.com mac and cheese}
Sunday we pretty much just hung out, watch the US win the quarterfinals of the World Cup, ate at a marina, cleaned up and headed home. Such an unforgettable trip and one I wish happened waaay more often! The lake was so relaxing and beautiful and I love hanging out with my bestie. :)

  3. I hate lake water. Gross. It took me FOREVER just to put my toes in. Since my fiance's parents have a place on a lake, and the summer is SO hot, I had no choice but to take baby steps in. Six summers later and I will only put my feet down at the sandbar and I will only swim where I can't touch so that I don't have to touch anything slimy. As seen in your pictures, you don't have to get in the water to have a good time! :)
