Day 28

This will be short and sweet. I'm not sure anyone even looks at this anymore. Doesn't it seem like FOREVER ago I started this?!? It does to me!

GO POKES! (Day 27)

I just wanted to share a little school spirit today. I love my Alma Mater! It always makes me a little sad on Game Days that I can't be walking the streets of Stillwater. Ahh, those were the days. I just wish I would've cherished it a little more while I was there.
Proud and immortal, Bright shines your name;

Oklahoma State, We herald your fame.

Ever you'll find us-loyal and true.

To our Alma Mater, O...S...U.

So I broke the rules today...sue me. I didn't have any orange or black in my 30/30 Collections so I had too. I can't hide my pride. :)

Teacher Idea Thursday

I changed the Teacher Idea Thursday header. HOPEFULLY, this week the Linky will work and not give us difficulties again. If you want to participate, just click below and link your blog to this page.

Teacher Idea Thursday!
MATH-O
This can be done with any subject...I teach math so that's what I went with. This all came about because I REALLY needed something to teach Math Vocabulary and didn't want to spend $30 to get the Nasco Bingo Game.  So I made one. :) Here is an example card. I have 6-8 cards in a set, each card being a little different. I put each set into its own little rubbermaid container, labeled and with marker pieces. Then the kids just play BINGO. They love it.

Like I said, these can be made for any grade/ any subject and don't take much effort...plus the kids LOVE them!

Day 24 and FLOODS

I'm BACK! Sorry for the little vacation from blogging. I noticed that this little break sure made me lazy with this challenge. I'm trying to finish strong. ONLY 6 more days...it's trickling down to the end. This is a picture of just my outfit today...my eyes were closed in every picture.

So the other day Seymore told me we really needed to water the yard. My response: "I'll just pray for rain." Well, Thank You Jesus! I think we had something like 12 inches of rain at 10am this morning! (and it rained for a good 2 hours after that!) It was crazy today here...I'm 20 minutes into the nightly news and we are still covering the floods. It's beautiful now...we just finished Boot Camp and the sky is almost clear and the sun is out.

Teacher Idea Thursday

Countdown to the Super Bowl (For you DFW area teachers)
We are counting down the days until the Super Bowl. The kids came up with tons of statements that related math and either the Super Bowl or the Cowboys Stadium. (That's the bottom part)

Up close and personal

This is just is more from an idea I've already shared...

My Big 12 Football board. It's floor to ceiling people! Each week when a Big 12 team wins, we give them a paper football above their logo. Then I bring the class to the hall and give them this paper below (I let them play a few game before I do this...so they aren't all the same)

They have to count footballs for each team, then find the mean, median, mode and range for all of them combined.  I'm telling you, I haven't had to teach the section in the book about this since I've started...they've got it!
