Cuatro (4 of 30)

Today is officially my last day of summer! I'm going to have to give a confession today. In the case that I was not doing this challenge I would TOTALLY be wearing the jean shorts I wore yesterday again today. It is just too hot out there and jeans make me sweat just thinking about them. But, I'll take one for the team and wear them today...cuffed up to make capri's of course. I have found I don't have as many accessories as I thought I did, which is making this tough. I pulled out a necklace and a belt today...yes a belt. ha! When this challenge is over, I will be probably start shopping for accessories instead of clothes!

3 of 30

Let's just start by talking about how HOT it is in Texas!!!!! My car said 112 today. That is just too hot...even for me. So needless to say, picture taking today was mis-er-able! I really need to find a place inside this house to start my pictures. But here it is for today. This was just one picture of like 30. All of which I hated, but this was a fun one so I used it.  (FYI...I'm still on summer vacation, hence the outfit)

Shirt- Old Navy
Shorts- American Eagle
Shoes- Target

I didn't even use accessories today...it's just too hot, even for them. :) I dressed in white and blue since we are heading to a Cowboys game tonight, thought I'd be festive.

In other news....

I just thought I'd share that I am
now 45 days WITHOUT my
drug of choice. Who would've
thought?!?

I am posting this today because I would love nothing more right now than a BIG styrofoam cup of Dr. Pepper (with Sonic ice)... but instead I am posting my progress as a reminder to me of how well I've done...and see, now I don't even want it anymore! ha!!

Day 2...of 30

I LOVE Dresses!!! They are so easy and can look as casual or dressed up as you want them to. Today I was in a rush getting ready so I just threw on this dress and pulled my hair back. And wall-la, this is what you get.

Don't you just love Target Clearance racks?!? I DO!!! I got this dress for nine bucks about a year and a half ago! Why is it that I can spend hours at the mall and come up with nothing and then just walk into Target and come out with the best finds! I just love that place.

Day 1

Today was my first outfit. I think I found another challenge to this challenge...my photographer isn't that into taking 100 pictures until I find the one I like, so this could be interesting. I might have to start self portraits soon. :)

Here's what I came up with...

              Shirt- American Eagle
              Jeans- Gap
              Shoes- Old Navy
              Purse- F21

30/30 Challenge

I'm Ready for the Challenge!
Lindsey and I came across a girls blog who started this challenge about a month ago. If you would like to check out her journey, you can click the We Can Remix banner below.

What is the 30/30 Challenge?  Go through your closet and pick out 30 items. (pants, jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts, tops, sweaters, jackets, shoes etc.) The challenge is to take those 30 items and remix them for 30 days. (or 30 outfits) Accessories are freebies. You can take any belt, purse, scarf, or jewelry and add it to your 30 pieces. Then, each day photograph your outfit, blog and label where each item is from.

I am really excited about this! I love a good challenge...here is my disclaimer. I haven't started school yet, but I've put all my money in that we will be allowed to wear jeans...I just have this feeling. (fingers crossed) SO, in the case that I am wrong, I might have to substitute a pair of jeans or two. :) I will keep you posted on that...

I spent about an hour last night picking out clothes and photographing the 30 items I picked out. Here is what we will be working with. (Really, there is only 29 things here...1 shirt is missing)

New York & Co, American Eagle, Gap, Gap, Old Navy, American Eagle

One of the biggest things I miss about being with my sisters is getting ready together. It is always so much fun. We share all of our clothes and can always expect an honest opinion about the outfit we put together...with an article of clothing or accessory that will make it better. :) With this challenge, I expect no less girls...plus it will give us more ideas for future outfits we could put together. Natalie's a little on the fence about this but with a little begging, I'm sure she will come around. I'm also hoping that anyone reading this blog will also participate. Think about how much fun it will be...

How To Add a Signature

I guess I should also mention I'm a bit of a computer person. I am the Campus Technology Trainer at my school and love to figure out things on computer...well at least things that interest me, like adding my name at the bottom of the page. :)

Here is how you do it.

Step 1:
I went into Word and used Word Art to create my name and grabbed a picture I wanted beside it. Then I took a screen shot of what I wanted my signature to look like. I saved it as a .jpg.

Step 2:
Then I went to Photobucket and saved my picture. (Minimize that window and go back into Blogger)

Step 3:
Go to the Dashboard, Click on Settings, then Formatting. Type this code below into the box that says POST TEMPLATE.

Step 4:
Go back to Photobucket and copy the code that says Direct Link.

Step 5:
Go back to Blogger to your Post Template box. See where its says src in red and then that code in blue? You are going to replace that code " to " with your new code. Make sure you remember quotations on both ends of your new code.  THEN...where it says align, change "right" to "left"

Step 6:
Click Save and you are all done!

Here Goes Nothing...

So here begins my blogging experience.

I've been told for years I should try this out and my response has always been
"I have NOTHING to blog about, my life is BORING!"
Please don't jump to any conclusions or think anything significant has happened, because it hasn't, it's still the same story....BORING OLD Katie!

My eyebrows raised when my sister talked me into doing this little fashion series called the 30/30 Challenge. You can read her blog here...It's a good one! My goal is to start it this week, so be watching for that to come. It will explain what I will be doing in more detail.

What else can you expect???

  • Well I'm a teacher, so maybe I'll post some of my brilliant and oh, so creative ideas
  • I love decorating and anything crafty...so there is a thought.
  • When it comes to food, I am a girl of habit...I do the same thing over and over until I get sick of it. So I maybe into cooking for a while, I might be eating out a lot...regardless I can give you recipes or restaurant critiques
  • I am proud to say I am a first time aunt to pretty much the CUTEST baby girl in the world, so you might hear just a little about her.
  • I love to find a good deal when I shop and share my finds...so stay tuned.
  • My other half. He never fails me...he can keep me entertained for days when I just think of something he did or said. We have a lot of fun.

I'm sure I will be able to think of more later...

Well, watch out blog world, and start lining up the sponsors...this might just be the next Kelly's Korner. lol. I am just kidding, but really, I am hoping this blog will be somewhat enjoyable to someone other than my mom and sister...but no promises!
