To my fellow teacher bloggers...A new series for YOU! Teacher Idea Thursday. On Thursday's post a good idea for us all to read about. It can be a creative idea, an activity or event, or just something that happened at school. I don't know about you, but I blog better when I'm suppose to be writing about something. :)  I've included a button, so if you're participating, please just include the button at the top of your post and link it to my blog so we can all read about it. I'm going to try out the Linky thing so we can all link up. We will see how that goes. :)

8-teen

It's Saturday and we're headed to the mall. I need some Labor Day Weekend outfits. Yes, I confess...this challenge will have to just be 30 outfits...because I will more than likely take the weekend off. :) My photographer insisted on taking this in the garage today because I remembered about the picture on our way out the door. Hope you guys are having a fabulous weekend!

Talk about a cold front...It's 73 degrees outside right now! Yesterday was so beautiful...I think we took the longest recess ever! I'm excited about today...my kids chose their Slant 45 community service project...we are promoting fitness in the community by making an exercise video. ha. I'm not exactly dressed right, but I figured it was ok since I'm just taping it. Here is my outfit...

Recap...

15 Days into it...
I seriously thought I would've quit by now, but NO still going strong! :)

Half Way Mark...Day 15

Well, I've made it to the half way mark. Although it's hard, this challenge has really been a great thing for me. It keeps me out of the stores (because I know I can't wear anything I buy) and keeps me one my toes planning my outfits. I curled my hair this morning and then realized it was sprinkling...so there goes the curls. It's hump day everyone!!!

On a Brighter Note...

A nice cold front came through today...The high should be in the mid-90's all week. haha. I love my class! They are so fun and we are doing so many cool things this week. We are participating in the SLANT 45 Service Learning Project that goes a long with the Super Bowl. All the kids get tickets to go to a special event at the stadium during Super Bowl week. How cool is that?!?! I thought I'd leave you with our new team picture this year. :) Happy Tuesday!

14...ugh!

Executive Decision- It's too hot for 6 pairs of pants. Gray Gap ones are out! (Which is ok, because I haven't even worn them yet) Black Old Navy Skirt, IN!

Let me just start out by warning you I don't like this outfit either. I really wanted to cheat today and wear something I liked. Don't get me wrong, I like all these pieces but not together. It was one of those mornings that you throw all your clothes all over the place and I'm just giving up. I was soooo HOT yesterday and I refuse to wear pants! Oh, and my feet still hurt. Hopefully this will be better tomorrow.

13

HOLY SORE FEET! Gosh, I don't remember my feet EVER hurting this bad from heals! I guess I spent a few too many days in flip flops this summer.  Day thirteen...my first day back at school and I'll have to say, it went pretty good. I've definitely got some talkers! :) I'm looking forward to a great year...we have a lot of really fun things planned.
At this point in time I'm really questioning why I chose all pants for this challenge. I guess I forgot it was in the 100's the first few weeks of school. Not smart Katie! FYI...It was 107 today.

My Hustle

About a month ago I went to visit my friends Alicia and Adam and their new babies! They are absolutely the cutest things ever! They are will be 4 months old next week! This is little Ledger & Holden. Aren't they the cutest?!?
Me feeding Holden (Bad picture of me)

So while I was there, I got schooled by Adam on how to be a better shopper. He is BIG coupon clipper and price matcher! I've never really had an interest in cutting out coupons and didn't even know you could do price matching. (and who know, Wal-Mart and Target both do it!) Needless to say it was one of those lessons I learned a lot from.
So, for about the last month I've been clipping coupons out of the Sunday paper, a printing off of coupons.com and saving all the grocery circulars that come in the mail. :) I even found a blog after watching the nightly news called Penny PinchingI don't know how this lady does it, but she's always getting tons of stuff for next to nothing! I took her up on her deal about razors today and IT WORKED! :)
Coupons are totally my new hustle!
Here is what I got at Target today...

And here is how I did it...
Natural Instincts #20- Target Price $7.99, Price Matched for $5.99. Then used a $2 off and a $4 off when you buy 2 coupon. 2 of my hair color for $5.98!
Right Guard-  Target Price $3.24. I used a buy one get on free and a $3 off coupon. Total price $0.24 for 2 deodorants! WOW!!!
Shick Quattro Razors- (This was from the Penny Pinching Blog) Target price $5.49 and when you buy 2 you get a $5 gift card. I used a $2 Target coupon and a $2 Shick coupon. So with the $5 gift card I got...Total price for 6 new razors is $1.98
Crest Toothpaste- Target Price $2.49 and I used a $0.75 coupon making it $1.74
Cottonelle- (18 double rolls) Target weekly special $9.99. Price match for $6.99 and used a $0.50 coupon. Total cost $6.49
Grand Total $17.78 for everything you see in the picture!
I saved $30.14!
Coupons + Katie = BFF!

Tweleve.

Day 12. You will definitely start learning a few things about me now that I have to start going to work at 8:00. One being my hair. Most days I wear it straight...but every once in a while I get up about 20 minutes early and I will have time to curl it. I love to sleep so I rarely give up my 20 minutes. lol. Today was one of those lucky days.

Teacher Week: Classroom Tour

Today is the last day of Babbling Abby's, Teacher Week. I've had a lot of fun doing this all week. I really hope she does another one soon. I blog a lot better when I have an assigned topic to talk about each day. :)

The last one I'm doing is the classroom tour. These pictures were taken at 9:30 tonight when I FINALLY finished my room. I am now officially ready to start school on Monday.

Welcome to my classroom! This is the view when you stand in the doorway.

This is my little area. It's pretty cozy and I love it

Day 10

Day 10 of the Challenge. I am officially 1/3 of the way done!!! I can honestly say, this is really becoming a challenge for me. I would love nothing more to just be able to wear a t-shirt and shorts to school today, but I can't because my teacher friends would call me out for cheating. (Yes, this has already happened once after a wardrobe change last week) In case you are just joining me and wondering why I am taking daily pictures of myself, you can click here to read about the challenge.

Today's outfit:

Shirt- American Eagle
Shorts- Gap
Shoes- Old Navy
Jewelry- F21

It's going to be another long day. I plan on staying in my room until it's finished...I really don't want to go up to school this weekend. Teacher Week post later on tonight. :)
